Technology in Early Detection & Management
Your eye exam isn’t just about updating your prescription—our exams and technology also play a role in the early detection and management of various eye diseases and conditions.
We take a proactive approach to managing vision problems to help create a positive environment with personalized treatment plans to preserve your vision and overall eye health.
Explore Our Technology
Our technology at Kopan Eyecare includes Optos retinal imaging to help with comprehensive eye health assessments, precise visual field testing, pachymetry for accurate corneal measurements, and Spark4 smart mirror for personalized glasses fittings.
We’re always looking for new ways to help our patients, and that includes staying diligent about new developments in eye care technology.
Optos Retinal Imaging
Optos ultra-widefield retinal imaging scans your retina with a 200-degree view, helping to reveal early signs of eye diseases such as age-related macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy. Beyond eye health, it helps detect systemic disorders like diabetes, hypertension, and certain cancers, often before symptoms manifest.
Visual Field Testing
Visual field testing is a crucial tool in assessing your vision health. The method allows our optometrists to evaluate your field of vision and help detect blind spots (scotoma) that may indicate conditions like glaucoma.
We can proactively address progressive vision issues by measuring potential peripheral vision loss.
Pachymetry
We use pachymetry to measure the thickness of your cornea, which helps us fit contact lenses correctly. Usually a painless scan, pachymetry uses ultrasound to measure your cornea’s front and back. Corneal thickness affects eye pressure, which is an important indicator for conditions like glaucoma. Even if your eye pressure seems okay, thin corneas can still be a risk factor.
Spark4 Mirror
This innovative smart mirror can streamline the measurement process for your glasses or contacts.
Spark4 uses innovative technology to capture precise measurements of your face and eyes, helping to provide data for an ideal fit and comfort for your eyewear. Spark4 provides a faster, more efficient, and comfortable experience, allowing our eye care professionals to focus on what matters most: your individual vision needs.
