About Our Practice in Toledo

Dr. Dean C. Kopan’s patients know him as a patient and friendly eye doctor. He’s a second-generation optometrist and practiced with his father until his retirement.

Dr. Kopan earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Indiana University in 1984 and a Doctor of Optometry degree from Illinois College of Optometry in 1989. His professional experience includes the Fort Sheridan Army Post, the Illinois Visually Handicapped Institute, and the Easter Seals Foundation. 

Dr. Kopan provides full-service primary eye care and finds fulfillment in connecting with patients and their families. Dr. Kopan is also involved in several organizations, including The Sight Center of NW Ohio, Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral, and the Toledo Area Optometric Society, where he served as past president. 

Dr. Kopan is married and has 3 adult children. Outside of his work, he enjoys family gatherings, sports, and travel.

Dr. Bryn L. Langenderfer is an upbeat and detail-oriented optometrist dedicated to providing exceptional patient care. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Pharmaceutical Sciences with a concentration in pharmacology and toxicology, graduating Magna Cum Laude from the University of Toledo in 2017, where she also minored in chemistry. She went on to earn her Doctorate of Optometry from the Michigan College of Optometry in 2021.

Dr. Langenderfer’s career has taken her through various practice settings, starting in Virginia at a private equity practice for 2 years before working independently as an optometric contractor. Since joining Kopan Eyecare, she has found her passion in private practice, where she enjoys the variety and problem-solving aspects of primary care optometry. Helping patients address their vision concerns and restoring their comfort and clarity is what she finds most rewarding.

Originally from Toledo, Dr. Langenderfer and her husband moved back to be closer to family and friends. Outside of the office, she’s an avid traveler, documenting her adventures on a world map. Some of her favorite destinations include Banff, Hawaii, Zion National Park, Dubai, with Australia and Italy on the list for 2025. She also prioritizes fitness and enjoys weightlifting.

Sara has been in the eye care industry for 9 years and recently joined our team as an optometric technician. She brings a friendly and helpful approach to patient care and is always eager to assist and help everyone feel comfortable during their visit.

She earned her associate’s degree in medical assistance from Columbus State in 2009, graduating on the dean’s list. Her experience and dedication make her a valuable part of our practice.

For Sara, the most fulfilling part of her job is helping people and getting to meet new patients every day. Outside of work, she enjoys cheering on her kids at their sporting events, supporting the Ohio State Buckeyes, and taking walks with her black lab, Harley.

Danielle has been a friendly and helpful presence at the front desk for the past 10 years. With a decade of experience in the eye care industry, she is dedicated to making every patient’s visit smooth and stress-free. She holds an Associate of Applied Business in Medical Office Support from Owens Community College, which has helped her develop a strong understanding of patient care and insurance navigation.

Danielle finds the most fulfillment in meeting and talking with patients, helping them get the best possible solutions within their insurance coverage. Outside of work, she loves spending time outdoors with her long-time boyfriend and their son.

With 48 years of experience in the eye care industry, Judy brings a wealth of knowledge and a friendly, helpful approach to every patient she serves. As a licensed optician for over 30 years, she finds the most fulfillment in helping patients select the perfect eyewear and meeting new people along the way.

Outside of work, Judy enjoys shopping, keeping her home and yard in top shape, and spending quality time with her granddaughter Olivia. She also loves spoiling her beloved dog, Miley. Whether assisting patients or tending to her favorite hobbies, Judy’s warm and welcoming nature shines through in everything she does.

Linda brings over 45 years of experience in the eye care industry to her role as office manager, where she has been making a difference for the past several years. Known for her sincere, ambitious, and sociable personality, Linda excels in creating meaningful connections with patients while managing the operations of the office.

She finds fulfillment in her daily interactions with patients and embraces the challenge that her role presents. When she’s not working, Linda enjoys spending time with her daughter, Lauren, in Columbus, taking her beloved bolognese, Lola, for walks in the park and exploring the vibrant Toledo restaurant scene.

Linda’s extensive experience in the eye care field, combined with her dedication to the practice and passion for patient care, makes her an invaluable asset to the team.

Linda will be moving to Columbus in July, 2025. Where she will continue to work remotely for Kopan Eyecare.

With over 30 years of experience in the eye care industry, Peggy brings a wealth of knowledge and a fun, outgoing personality to her role as an optician and ophthalmic technician. Having held her current position for over 3 years, Peggy loves interacting with patients and takes great pride in finding the perfect eyewear that enhances their vision and confidence.

Peggy earned her associate degree in applied science from Lourdes University in 2006 and holds certifications from JCAHPO as a Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) and from IJCAHPO as a Certified Ophthalmic Scribe (OSC). Her passion for the industry shines through in her dedication to patient care and her ability to make every interaction enjoyable.

For Peggy, the most fulfilling part of her job is witnessing the joy on a patient’s face when they put on glasses for the first time and experience clear vision. She is known in the office for being the resident “clown,” always bringing a lighthearted and fun atmosphere to her work environment.

When not at work, Peggy loves to travel, hit the golf course, and spend time with her grandchildren—Brantley, Cash, and Dutton.

With 25 years of experience in the eye care industry, Amanda brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to her role as a dually licensed optician. She has held her current position for 10 years and earned her associate degree in opticianry from Owens Community College in 1998, along with her optician license.

Amanda is known for her friendly and enthusiastic personality, always making patients feel welcome and cared for. What she loves most about her job is the opportunity to meet and connect with patients, providing personalized service to ensure their vision needs are met with the utmost care.

Outside of work, Amanda enjoys spending quality time with her kids and dog, embracing life’s simple pleasures. Her dedication to her work and warm demeanor make her a trusted and valued part of the team.

Meet Cassidy, our friendly and kind optician dedicated to helping you find the perfect frames! 

With 2 years of experience in the eye care industry, Cassidy is here to assist you with all your optical needs. She received her optician apprenticeship from Ohio Vision Professionals in 2023 and also has a background in Healthcare Services Management from the Department of the Air Force. 

Cassidy is driven to help people find excellent glasses they really love! Outside of work, she enjoys going on road trips with her partner and visiting farmers’ markets.
